Strazds Andris
Andris Strazds graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) in 1996 and got his master’s degree in International Economics and Business at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden in 1998. Since then he has been teaching International Finance, Managerial Economics and Business Valuation and Strategy in the undergraduate, Executive MBA and various non-degree executive education programs at SSE Riga.
Andris has held the position of Strategy Development Manager at the Latvian fixed line telecommunications operator Lattelecom and worked as Transactions Manager at PwC and Chief Economist of Nordea in Latvia. From 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Commission of Strategic Analysis under the auspices of the President of Latvia.
Since February 2014 Andris has been Adviser to the International Relations and Communication Department of the Bank of Latvia. In April 2016 H.E. Raimonds Vejonis appointed him a member of the Energy Security Commission of the President of Latvia. Andris is also a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations.
Besides his native Latvian Andris is fluent in English, German and Russian and has intermediate level knowledge of French. Together with Thomas Grennes he writes a blog at RGE's EconoMonitor.
