The Australian Financial Review has published an article analyzing a paper titled "Using ETFs to Conceal Insider Trading," co-authored by SSE Riga Professor Talis Puntins, Vinay Patel of the University of Technology Sydney, and SSE Riga graduates Elza Eglite and Dans Staermans. The primary finding of the paper is that insiders trade ETFs that contain the company involved in an M&A deal prior to its announcement, instead of directly investing in the company to avoid arousing suspicion (in English).
