SSE Riga Assistant Professor Nicolas Gavoille: Teaching How to Crunch Data and Make Decisions
We are starting a new series of mini-articles introducing our faculty! Learn more about what our professors enjoy most about their respective fields, teaching at SSE Riga, and life outside the School
“I particularly like the curiosity of the students, which is much more developed than average. There is nothing I like more than at the end of the lecture when there are some students staying to ask questions, asking for more details about some examples that I've been using. This is something that I really appreciate: this curiosity and will to go further,” says Nicolas Gavoille, who has been one of the core faculty members since 2015.
Professor Gavoille started his university studies in France, first thinking he would be an architect, but then switched to economics, eventually getting a PhD in Economics from the University of Rennes. Now he passes on his passion to his students by teaching the Mathematics, Econometrics, Managerial Economics and Game Theory courses.
