On February 26, SSE Riga Professor Arnis Sauka participated in a discussion initiated by Latvian President Egils Levits.
The President invited Latvian scientists and economics experts to examine researchers' solutions in the fight against COVID-19 and to discuss how to use findings in real life better and faster.

During the discussion, Dr Sauka stressed that it is important to think about use of these scientific discoveries after COVID-19 as he sees in them a sustainability factor as well as a potential facilitator for financing of prototypes.
Dr Sauka also encouraged more investment, more funding, and greater capacity in creating professorships, thus contributing to research and scientific progress. He added that the public should be informed more often about the achievements of our scientists.
