Roundtable Discussion: Understanding Ukrainian Displaced People's Support and Inclusion in Germany

Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Robert Bosch Stiftung, Französische Str. 32, 10117 Berlin

The roundtable will focus on the current situation and labour market inclusion of Ukrainian displaced people in Germany. It is part of a broader series of roundtables across Europe aimed at exploring how different countries are responding to the reception and integration of Ukrainians. This initiative is led by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and supported by the BOSCH Foundation.

Germany stands out in this context due to its recent experience in welcoming and supporting large numbers of refugees, which has shaped national and local approaches to inclusion. The event will include an overview of employment trends among Ukrainians in Germany, followed by presentations of emerging practices and insights from those working directly on labour market access.

Panel discussions will bring together employers, policymakers, and integration practitioners to reflect on what lessons can be drawn from Germany’s experience to date. Speakers will also examine what gaps remain and how policies and practices might evolve to support both displaced people and host communities more effectively.

The event will bring together key stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and NGOs.
