Professor Arnis Sauka elected to the Board of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia
SSE Riga Professor Arnis Sauka has been elected as a Board Member of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL).
The Annual General Meeting and the election of FICIL Board Members were held on March 19th. Arnis Sauka has been elected for a period of two years with the possibility to be re-elected for another two years.
Professor Sauka has already cooperated with FICIL in various research projects. The most prominent outcome of this collaboration is the FICIL Sentiment Index, an assessment of foreign investors’ sentiments regarding developments in the business environment in Latvia. The FICIL Sentiment Index tackles topical issues, such as demographic decline, digitalisation, economic competitiveness, quality of the higher education system, rule of law, and economic and financial crime. The Index is prepared by Professor Sauka.
The Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL) is a non-governmental organisation that brings together the largest companies from various countries and sectors that have made significant investments in Latvia, as well as thirteen countries’ Chambers of Commerce in Latvia.
