SSE Riga, Room 311

The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga), in collaboration with the Embassy of Belgium – Delegation of Flanders, invites you to a public lecture by Associate Professor Dr. David Criekemans on the topic: "Geopolitics of Energy and Energy Transition in Today's World".

Dr. David Criekeman on Geopolitics of Energy

The global energy landscape is changing rapidly. The war in Ukraine, shifts in U.S. policy under Trump, and Europe’s energy transition highlight the central role energy politics play in today’s complex geopolitical environment. The need to diversify energy sources and their origins is more pressing than ever. Renewables are now a key part of global power politics, with China, the U.S., and Europe driving record growth. Energy is strategy, and in this lecture, we will explore how it influences political discourse, policies, and even conflicts.
