Dr. Arnis Sauka moderates panel discussion at the conference "Money in Latvia - from the restoration of independence to the present day"
30 years ago, Latvia restored its financial and economic independence and one of the key components of this process was monetary reform.
To enhance public education and interest in past, current, and future financial issues, as well as raise awareness of the significance of Latvia's financial and economic independence, the conference "Money in Latvia – from the restoration of independence to the present day" was held on August 17th.
President of Latvia Egils Levits and Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš opened the conference and various invited speakers discussed how Latvia has progressed from the introduction of the Latvian ruble or “repshik” to today and what are the current challenges of the eurozone.
SSE Riga professor Arnis Sauka moderated the panel discussion titled "Money and the future".
The video recording of the conference is available below (in Latvian).
