The 2nd Baltic Business and Public Policy Summit
Thursday, November 14, 2024, 09:30 – 16:00
SSE Riga
Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) and the House of Governance and Public Policy at the Stockholm School of Economics will hold the 2nd Baltic Business and Public Policy Summit in Riga.
Looking forward: Thirty years after SSE Riga was established, what is the future of the region’s economy and security? What does the future hold for our societies?
This event is open to the public on the occasion of the SSE Riga 30th anniversary.
The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga was established thirty years ago with the mission to contribute to the social and economic development of the region. 2024 we will find the area in a different social, economic, and security space. Public and private decision-makers seek to navigate uncertainty and unprecedented technological development related to the economy, geopolitical developments, and digitalisation.
Businesses and societies look into the future - to build in this fast-moving environment. At the same time, the Baltic Sea region has a strong tradition of openness to international markets, resilience to change an making the best of uncertain times.
With new uncertainties unfolding daily, we look at the present and future. What do the economic, geopolitical, and social developments mean for our region? How can the private and public sectors best work together in the context of change while committed to the market economy, progress, and democracy?
What is the Purpose of the Summit?
The 2nd Baltic Business and Public Policy Summit will seek to address some of these issues by combining academic and practitioner perspectives on the collaboration between private and public actors.
Specifically, we will address how the public and private sectors view the present and future and how the private and public sectors can help continue building resilient and healthy societies and economies. We will focus on three key areas: security, economy, and society.
Baltic Business and Public Policy Summit brings together experts from academia, public policy, and corporate strategy from Finland, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Sweden for joint discussions.
