BFFI - ECGI Conference: The Role of Family Firms in Long-Term Sustainability
We are pleased to extend a cordial invitation to the upcoming Baltic Family Firm Institute - ECGI Conference, focusing on the theme of Family Enterprises. This conference is organized by the Baltic Family Firm Institute (BFFI) and European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), as part of the Family Capitalism pillar of the ECGI’s Responsible Capitalism project.
The conference will focus on how family-owned enterprises can harness their long-term vision and values to strengthen the sustainability of both the firm and its stakeholders. The discussion will revolve around the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the next generation of family business leaders, and practical guidance for family enterprises shaping the future.

Keynote Speakers
Dennis T. Jaffe is a Senior Research Fellow at Banyan Global Family Business Advisors. He holds a PhD from Yale University. Over a 40-year career, as professor, organizational consultant and family therapist, he has helped families with a family business, family office or family foundation, overcome personal challenges that get in the way of successful and fulfilling generational transfer of businesses, wealth, values, commitments and legacies.
John A. Davis is the Chairman and Founder of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group and Senior Lecturer and Faculty Director of Family Enterprise Executive Programs at MIT Sloan School of Management. He is a globally recognized pioneer and authority on family enterprise, family wealth, and family office. Since the 1970s, he has been a leading researcher, author, advisor, and speaker in the family enterprise field, and is the creator of the field's most impactful conceptual frameworks.
Christina R. Wing is the founder of Wingspan Legacy Partners and Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School. She is the chair of the executive education program Families in Business and frequently teaches family office and HBS/Young Presidents' Organization programs internationally. Prior to teaching at HBS and creating Wingspan, Christina held a variety of roles within the finance and general management fields. Most recently she was president and CEO of a family office where she oversaw a team of people and assets within real estate, art, collectables, private investments, and philanthropic activities.
Morten Bennedsen is Niels Bohr Professor at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). He obtained his PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 1998 and is an expert on owner-managed and family businesses. His work has been published in top finance and economics journals and he is the author of the book "The Family Business Map: Assets and Roadblocks in Longterm Planning". He has served as advisor to The Danish Ministry of Business, The Danish and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, private equity funds and the World Bank. He consults and works with many families in Europe, in Asia and in the rest of the world.
